The Hanover Horse Cup: new GLTA tournament in the heart of Germany
In the 90’s Hanover, Germany, hosted the ATP Finals for 10 years in a row. One of the most remarkable indoor matches ever was played here in 1996 when Pete Sampras won the final in 5 sets against Boris Becker.
This summer Hanover welcomes the GLTA world tour for the first time! Up to 13 outdoor clay courts and two all-year courts with floodlight are waiting for a fantastic tennis competition. The horse as a symbol of the region of Hanover and the sculptures of Nicki de Saint Phalle were the inspiration for the amazing trophy: The Hanover Horse Cup.
The Hanover Horse Cup is supported by the 160 old sports club VfB Hannover-Wuelfel e.V. and by the city of Hanover. As special guest, the state minister of sports, Daniela Behrens will be welcomed on Friday evening. She will join the BBQ on the venue and show the support of the politics to our community. With a DJ, a colorful supporting program and local members of the queer community this event will be the start of a new era of sports events in Hanover. Be part of it and register now!
Besides the welcome gift, all players will receive a free dinner on Friday and Saturday. Special rates for students and apprentices apply!
