Welcome to GLTA Championships!
The GLTA Championships 2021/2022 are about to start in Gran Canaria and it promises to be five days of tennis, fun and friendship for almost 100 participants. We are happy to welcome all our players on the island of sun and would like to share some information about the event.
The venue for the Championships is Conde Jackson Maspalomas Tennis Club (address: Av. Touroperador Tjaereborg, 9, Maspalomas). The club with its 7 clay courts and two hard courts is the largest tennis club in the Southern part of Gran Canaria. It regularly hosts professional and amateur tennis tournaments and has excellent facilities for playing tennis as well as for watching the matches.
The Club also has a cafeteria where the Players’ Welcome Party will be held February 1, 18:00 – 22:00. There will be food, drinks and music and a perfect chance to say „hi“ to other participants at the event. The catering at the event will be done by Fine Chef.
Matches will commence on Thursday at 8:00 and needless to say – it will be a lot of tennis for all the participants but especially those playing more than one event. The Championship draws and schedules have been prepared and published, you can find them on the GLTA tournament software.
Players Dinner will be held at Seven Hotel & Wellness on Saturday, February 4. The doors open at 18:30. The buffet-style dinner has a wide selection of delicacies for every taste. Who does feel like dancing better bring the dancing shoes! By the way, the evenings can be a little chilly so pick your outfits wisely.
The Championships will end on Sunday after which there will be the trophy ceremony and a barbecue at the Conde Jackson Tennis Club.
Lastly, we’ve got some very exciting news to share with you! The Championships will be attended by the Tennis Channel production team who will be filming the entire event. The finished product highlighting GLTA will be released on Tennis Channel later this year. 61.2 million homes subscribe to Tennis Channel so this is amazing exposure for the GLTA.
