GLTA Championships 2019/2020

The GLTA World Tour Championships hold a unique place among GLTA tennis events. This is the culmination of all GLTA Tournaments for the best players on our tour and now the locations for 2019/2020 have been decided.

The Men’s Championships will be held in early February in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. Why did we pick this place – well, it’s because of the name Oahu, of course, which means “the gathering place” :).  The exact dates are yet to be finalized but we are already excited about hosting this event in a true paradise!

Hawaii’s proximity to the equator keeps the weather warm year-round. Even in February, the weather is pleasantly warm and so is the ocean. The ocean temperatures don’t really fluctuate dramatically from month to month or season to season.

A fun fact: did you know that Honolulu is the largest city in the world? A part of the state’s constitution dictates that any island, islet, or atoll that has not been designated to another county automatically falls under Honolulu’s umbrella.

2019/2020 will be the first year that GLTA will also be hosting the Women’s Championship. The Championship for Women will be held from 3–5 January 2020 at the Dutch National Tennis Center in Amstelveen, The Netherlands.
