Announcing Our 2025 GLTA Executive Board Elections

Two elections will be held concurrently: a General Election and a Special Election.

During the June board meeting, and consistent with the Board’s multi-election plan approved in 2024, directors voted to add an additional director position. Consequently, two positions are open for election. Elected directors will serve three-year terms, beginning January 1, 2026, and concluding December 31, 2028.

Earlier this year, a Board position became vacant, and a special election was held for a term ending December 31, 2025. In accordance with the by-laws, another special election will be conducted for the remainder of the term, from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027.

Candidates are eligible to run for either election or both. To self-nominate, please email secretary@glta.net. You will then receive a Statement of Interest form to complete.

Serving on the Board is a volunteer activity. While no monetary compensation is provided, partial reimbursement of expenses is available for attending two Board meetings per year, held at various international locations (including a European location to be announced in March 2026, and Valencia, Spain, in June 2026). Board members typically dedicate between 5 and 15 hours per week to Board activities, depending on their position, with increased participation during specific periods. Experience and familiarity with tournament software are beneficial for all Board members, but are not mandatory.

The GLTA comprises member organizations that host sanctioned tournaments globally. Members nominate a voting representative annually when submitting their tournament sanctioning application. The Board uses the organization’s most recent sanctioning application to distribute ballots. Each member representative is entitled to cast a single vote in GLTA elections. Our objective is to achieve 100% voting participation from member organizations. We encourage all GLTA players to engage with their member organization leaders to provide feedback and ensure each organization casts its vote.
