GLTA Celebrates International Trans Day of Visibility
On March 31, the world celebrated International Transgender Day of Visibility. Pride Tennis Worldwide, Inc. (GLTA) proudly and unequivocally supports the inclusion of transgender athletes in all levels of tennis. We believe that sport is a fundamental right and should be accessible to everyone, regardless of gender identity.
Transgender athletes, like all athletes, deserve the opportunity to participate, compete, and experience the joy and benefits of tennis. Excluding them is discriminatory and goes against the principles of fairness, inclusion, and respect that the GLTA champions.
We recognize the ongoing attack transgender athletes are facing throughout the world, and we are committed to working with our members to develop and implement policies that are inclusive and equitable.
The GLTA stands in solidarity with transgender athletes and will continue to advocate for their full inclusion and acceptance in the tennis community and beyond. We believe that a diverse and inclusive sporting environment strengthens us all. Transgender athletes will always have a home in the GLTA.
We are proud to celebrate #TransDayofVisibility and hope to see you on the court soon.
