GLTA World Tour Championships Are Headed to Puerto Rico in February 2025
The GLTA Board is pleased to announce that the 2025 GLTA World Tour Championships will take place from February 10–12, 2025 at El Centro de Tenis Honda in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
This is the first time the GLTA World Tour Championships will take place in Latin America. El Centro de Tenis Honda features 16 beautiful hard courts and has served as a venue for Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup ties as well as ITF junior tour tournaments.
The GLTA World Tour Championships are an invitation-only event. The top eight players from the Any Gender and Women’s GLTA Championship Points rankings in each division (Open, A, B, C, and D) as of October 31, 2024 will receive automatic entry to the tournament. If qualifying players do not accept their invitation, draw spots are filled in ranking order.
The first round of invitations will be sent in early November 2024. GLTA Championship Points rankings are updated each week based on tournament results from GLTA-sanctioned tournaments. The rankings can be viewed on the GLTA Tournament Software website
The GLTA Board selected Bayamón from among several potential host cities throughout North, Central, and South America. The GLTA World Tour Championships generally rotate among three regions annually: (1) North, Central, and South America, (2) Europe, and (3) Asia and Australia. The 2024 GLTA World Championships took place in Melbourne, Australia, and the 2026 World Tour Championships will take place in Europe at a location to be announced in 2025.
