1. The goal of the competition

The competition is organised for amateur athletes regardless of their knowledge of tennis, age, sexual orientation and gender identity. Tennis is one of the newest sports added to EuroGames.

2. The location of the competition

The tournament will be held at two venues, altogether on 16 courts.

4. Date of the event

28th-30th June, 2012 (Thursday - Saturday)

  • Arrival and registration:  until 7:00
  • Opening and technical speeches: 7:00
  • start of the competition: 8:00
  • Scheduled end of the competition days: 20:00
  • Lunch break: individually, according to the schedule of play

Please, be on time in the morning and during the day in order to avoid any inconveniences.

Players registering after a category is full will be moved to a higher one. The date of registration is decisive. Organisers also hold the right to move a player to a higher level in case there are not enough participants in it.

Doubles with participants of different levels can enter the higher participant level. (E.g. players of stages C and B will compete in stage B.)


Each competitor can enter only one singles and one doubles event (singles players lost in the first round can enter consolation round)

6. Details about the tournament

The tournament will follow the ITF Rule Book.


1. There will be a normal final set in case of knockout system. Each singles category will have consolation round, where the matches will last for 8 games.

2. There will not be a consolation round in case of round matches. The final set is a match tie break.

3. There will not be a consolation round in the doubles competition.

The tournament will be held at two venues on the first and second day. The semi-finals and finals will be held on the last day, Saturday.

Any change in the program will be announced adequately.


7. Awards

Medals will be given to the first, second and third best in each category.

The award winning ceremony will take place after the finals.

8. Registration

  • All athletes have to register through the central registration system on the EuroGames 2012 homepage. In case you mark „i am looking for a partner” option we will do our best to find you a suitable partner for the doubles.
  • All athletes have to register personally on 27th of June (Wednesday) at the central EuroGames registration point.
  • All athletes have to register at the venue at least 30 minutes before the start of each category, so that the the draw can be done according to the players shown up.

9. Results

The results will be published during the tournament on a board.

The award winning ceremony will take place after the finals.

The results will also be published on the internet site of the competition a few days latest after the EuroGames.

10. Other

  • All athletes participate at the tournament at their own risk! Sport-medical licence is not required, completion of the registration means that the participant is in proper health condition to take part in the event.
  • There will be first aid during the competition.
  • Purchase of insurance for the competition is highly recommended!
  • Warm-up is essential (not on the courts)!
  • The players will participate with their own equipment – supplementary racquet is recommended.
  • Balls will be provided by the organizers.
  • The organisers are not responsible for the belongings of the competitors left in the changing rooms or on the courts, but values deposit is provided.
